3 tips to control 'midnight munchies'?

After a long day when you get into bed with that favourite Netflix series of yours, what makes the ‘perfect picture’ complete? Whether it’s the sugar you go for when everyone is asleep, or the salty fried chips & chakhna- we all are prey at some point or another to this ‘mindless munching’.

70% of the time – its to enhance the pleasure of TV time and just RELAX.

Here are 3 quick tips you can try the next time you feel this urge, because eating just before going to sleep- is the WORST thing you can do for your body.

1. Divide your pleasures:

TV + snacking + bed = maxxx comfort combo. We need to break this conditioning. One way is to not eat in bed- NO MATTER WHAT. Your bedroom should be your sleep haven, where you can calm down after the long day of work. Eating means you are making your body do work- the work of digestion. So don’t overwork your body. Give it the rest it needs.

2. Eat fuller meals in the evening.

The 4-6pm window is when we naturally feel a lot of hunger. We often don’t listen to our body’s cries for food at that point- and end up bingeing later in the day!

3. Take a hot shower.

A hot nice shower is proven to foster the production of serotonin, which helps us relax and unwind and shut down our system for the day. Try keeping some fresh mint leaves in your bath area- the steam will release a fresh, minty fragrance that will calm your nerves and get you ready for bed, reducing the midnight cravings.
