Are you a regular therapist or do you only work with eating and body image concerns?
I'm a counseling psychologist with over 9 years of experience.
I have specialized in eating and body image psychology because I believe our mind and body are interconnected.
In my approach to emotional healing, I like to use the body as a tool to help in holistic healing, and vice versa.
What will our sessions be like?
My one-on-one sessions have the highest level of support (yes, that means I do think of you even when you're not around!)
The first session is when we will do a full intake of your health history; (physical and/or emotional health) to gather a sense of who you are, and what your stressors are. We will establish what your goals are, ie. eating guilt-free, managing stress, and emotional well-being, balancing your food, exercise, sleep, cravings, weight, relationships, work-life, procrastination, etc.
In the coming sessions, we will continue in-depth discussions to equip you with an emotional toolkit to become the best version of you; why would you settle for less?
What will be the duration of a session?
The first, free discovery/introductory session will be 10 minutes. If you have any queries about my style of approach to therapy, you can bring them up here.
After you sign up, all sessions are 50 minutes in length.
How many sessions will I require?
Everyone is different, and the number of sessions required varies from person to person, depending on your concerns. It does take anywhere between 6-12 sessions to start seeing results.
Moreover, keep in mind - the reason you’re doing this is to make yourself feel better, and be better. You’re retraining your brain to give up old habits, for a newer and healthier lifestyle.
Unlearning old belief systems and patterns that have been with you for years, takes time.
What will you learn from our work together?
Better emotional regulation, resilience towards difficult life situations, reduce overthinking, letting go of the past and being in the present, showing up consciously in current relationships, and higher self-awareness via stronger self-esteem.
If you want to focus specifically on changing your relationship with food and body, here are a few key learnings to help you understand what we will cover in our work together.
What if I have medical conditions?
Your treatment plan will be developed alongside your medical practitioner to suit your needs best. We will work to address the root causes of your health concerns and stressors. I will not be prescribing you medication.
Will you give me a diet?
We will do a comprehensive food intake. I will not only give you nutritional tweaks, but we’ll also go deeper to understand which foods suit you and which don’t. We’ll look at food sensitivities, allergies, and eating rhythms as well as introduce gut-healing nourishment that suits you, your hectic lifestyle, your stress levels as well as your body type.
